Elrod makes Strahd incredibly three dimensional. Jonathan Stuard They are pretty easy to get now. An enjoyable read with Strahd coming off as a far darker and more memoits monster than Bram Stoker’s original. Curse of Strahd fans do well to read it as a guideline of sorts for a more sympathetic and human Strahd, for depth in the world they are to put so much passion in, and for a good book in general that they won’t regret, but one of informative vampre, to take what you want and like to make it your own, rather than the imperative ultimate vision Oh yeah, the book.

Still, it was well written and worth reading for fun. I really enjoyed that. As a youngster I read Bram Stoker’s Dracula. The young and idealistic brother to the war-hardened Strahd von Zarovich loves beautiful Tatyana, but so does Strahd.
I wanted to look them up again and didn’t expect them to get rereleaced but with the electronic formats I think a lot of out of print niche stuff is going to make a comeback. I think the problem Vxmpire have with this book is how basic it is. That’s not to say I don’t try to be pious.
Everything clicked with this instalment – the narrative, the characterisations, vamprie pacing, everything. I know that Ravenloft is connected with the Forgotten Realms. A Vampire very much in the style of Dracula, with the wolves, bats, and mist.

I am not saying that his life after his change was not filled with loneliness and despair, just that I wish some of his extreme evil deeds had been addressed. The only problem is that it felt a little slow at first, but I’m willing to say that was due to the perspective and I just needed time to adjust.
